Parkour, also known as freerunning or l'art du déplacement originally started outside of Paris in the late 1980's and has since become one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Parkour practitioners learn to navigate their environment and overcome mental and physical challenges in a safe and pro-gressive manner in order to be able to move through any envi-ronment. Classes are designed to accommodate a wide range of fitness and ability levels, and are all taught by an ADAPT-certified instructor. Program takes place rain/snow or shine.Kids Parkour Classes (6-9yo, 9-13yo)Jump into the dynamic world of parkour as you run, jump, and climb through your environment with Parkour Generations Boston!  This class is designed to teach you the techniques and fundamental ideals of parkour in a safe and progressive non-competitive setting, while building your physical strength and developing your self-confidence.  You'll learn to see the world through "parkour vision", where the world becomes your playground and learn to embrace obstacles as an opportunity for fun and exploration.  All sessions are designed for a wide range of fitness levels and abilities- from absolute beginners to experienced practitioners! Adult/Teen & Low Impact Class (Ages 14-70+)A class is specifically designed for practitioners with "more life experience" that are interested in getting the fitness and agility benefits of parkour training without some of the higher-impact movements of our other classes. Classes are accessible to participants with a wide range of physical and fitness backgrounds- from the first time off the couch in years, to the seasoned weekend triathlete. All classes are taught by ADAPT certified coaches and include a combination of instruction in the movements and techniques of parkour, conditioning and strengthening exercises aimed at general fitness and the long-term practice of parkour, and a combination of exercises, routes and drills with the aim of providing a great (and fun) workout for any fitness level. Kids Advanced Class (Ages 8-13)A class designed for more experienced parkour practitioners that have established a strong physical and technical foundation and are ready to bring their training to the next level (age 8-13). Interested participants should ask a PKGB coach to do an assessment of their readiness for the class and what they should improve/prepare to participate.  Participants must have attended at least 1 season of PkGen Boston classes to participate (ask one of the PKGB team for details). Then, working as a team, they’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until they’ve prepared the finished dish. Class closes with opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned! Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation is encouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own.

Painting: In this session, students will explore the beauty of flowers and master acrylic painting on canvas, learning color theory, brushwork, and composition. Sculpture: Young artists will also create sculptures using materials like stone, wood, plastic, and found objects, encouraging them to think outside the box and experiment with different textures and shapes. Every project is age-appropriate, giving children the freedom to experiment with various materials and techniques while developing their own unique artistic style. With all materials included, your child can fully immerse themselves in the creative process and build confidence in their artistic skills.Enroll today and give your child the chance to grow, learn, and thrive as they discover the joy of creating art! In our exciting art classes, children will explore the fundamentals of drawing, painting, and sculpting through hands-on exercises and interactive demonstrations. Each session is thoughtfully crafted to spark creativity and encourage self-expression, all within a fun and supportive environment. Drawing & Sculpting: Kids will learn essential techniques as they draw and sculpt an animal from a plaster model. This hands-on experience will help them gain a deeper understanding of proportions, form, and movement, building strong foundational skills in both art and observation. Painting: In this session, students will paint still-life scenes in acrylics on canvas, using everyday objects like pots, cups, fruits, and chess pieces as their reference. Still life is a wonderful and accessible way to learn about the forms and relationships of objects, especially since they remain still, allowing children to observe closely. As they work, students will focus on mixing and creating their own colors, exploring how to bring their compositions to life. This exercise will deepen their understanding of color theory while helping them develop their own unique artistic style. For the final project of the session, students will create their own mobile sculptures, inspired by the work of American artist Alexander Calder. Known for suspending his three-dimensional pieces from the ceiling, Calder allowed his mobiles to float freely in space, creating dynamic and ever-changing forms. In this project, children will experiment with movement, balance, and design, crafting their own mobiles that come to life through air and motion.

Classes cover a mix of: - Parkour movements, techniques, and challenges that help participants to explore their capabilities within the safe supervised structure of classes - Acrobatic elements that explore air awareness, inversion, and adding "flair" or style into movement - Delve further into the roots and spirit of parkour training and explore how overcoming challenges can build self-confidence and adaptability that can be applied outside of parkour****Please complete the waiver form below and bring it with you for the first class.******

Every project is age-appropriate, giving children the freedom to experiment with various materials and techniques while developing their own unique artistic style.
