Each day will follow the structure of a typical band rehearsal, beginning with a warm-up and full ensemble rehearsal. In addition to rehearsing, students will participate in a variety of engaging musical activities, including music listening, sectionals (where instrument families rehearse separately), and interactive games and exercises designed to help them develop their musical skills, build confidence on their instruments, and get to know one another.
Throughout the two-week session, students will learn and prepare two pieces of music to perform for the Belmont Recreation Camp and their families at the end of the program.
**Participants should bring their own instrument. We have a limited number of instruments to borrow.
Daily Schedule:
9:00-9:30 arrival and warm up
9:30-10:30 full band rehearsal
10:30-11:00 break/snack
11:00-11:30 fun activity
11:30-11:50 full band rehearsal
11:50-12:00 warm down and dismissal
Band Leader Bios:Dustyn Gallo and Joe Barry are both graduates from Belmont High School who participated in many musical ensembles during their four years. They have played in the Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, and the Belmont Middle High School band in high school. Dustyn plays the trumpet, trombone, and guitar, and Joe plays the trombone.
