Higginbottom Pool

Welcome back to the Higginbottom Pool! 

The Higginbottom Pool is owned and maintained by the Belmont Public Schools. They partner with us here at Belmont Recreation to allow us to offer swim times for the public.

There are 2 ways to register for public hours.

Public swim costs $8 per session. A session is 2 hours in length. You may arrive at at time within the 2 hour window but the cost will remain $8 per person.

1. Activity Registration
Go to the link above (OR REGISTER HERE) and pre-register for a public swim activity online like you would any other program.

2. Pre-purchased Passes
  • You may pre-purchase public swim passes on your account (PASSES HERE).
  • You can pre-purchase these in quantities of 1, 3, 5, and 10 passes.
  • Please note that these passes are only good for the 2021/2022 school year. They will expire at the end of the school year and refunds will NOT be given for any unused passes. Passes are NOT transferable to other recreation programs.
  • Upon registration, you will be emailed a link to your passes.
  • You can access this pass via your account or take a screen shot and save it your your camera roll.
  • Upon entering the pool, please scan your pass at the computer station to sign in.
  • You may ask a lifeguard for assistance.


Higginbottom Pool Rules
i. The deep end test will be conducted as needed throughout the day.
ii. Back Flips are not allowed into the water. One bounce on the board is permitted. Only one person on the board at a time. NO jumping off the slide into the diving pit
iii. During public swim, keep children from playing in the lap lanes.
iv. Bathing suits must be worn. No shorts or cutoff pants. Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper, rubber pants AND a bathing suit.
v. Swimmers MUST shower before entering the pool. Bathing suits must remain on.
vi. Any person with shoulder length or longer hair must secure their hair with a hair tie or a swim cap.
vii. Persons with open sores, skin disease or other communicable disease are not permitted in the pool.
viii. Absolutely NO flotation devices or snorkels allowed. If you see someone wearing any type of flotation device, act immediately to have them remove it.
ix. Pool toys may be allowed at the Lifeguard’s discretion. Representatives from the
Belmont Recreation Department may remove pool toys at any time.
x. Eating is prohibited everywhere on the pool deck.
xi. All Belmont pubic properties and grounds are designated NO SMOKING areas.
This includes sidewalks and walkways directly around the pool.
xii. Persons shall not engage in threatening or abusive language or actions nor shall any discourteous, indecent or immoral conduct be tolerated. This type of behavior may result in ejection from the pool and/or loss of membership privileges.
xiii. Persons shall not misuse, abuse, damage or tamper with Town property.
xiv. All complaints or concerns should be directed to the supervisory staff of the Town.
xv. No one under the age of 10 will be admitted to the pool unless accompanied by an adult caregiver.
xvi. The Town of Belmont, the Belmont Recreation Department and all pool employees will not be responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced personal possessions.
